Divine Dance Championships Rules 2026

1.Registration

Reservations are accepted on a first come first served basis and require a £10

deposit fee to hold a routines spot.

Entries will close 35 days before an event.

All routine information must be finalised at least 30 days before the event

All fees must be paid in full at least 30 days before the event.

All relevant BOPA and related forms must be returned by the stated date.

2. Scheduling

Provisional schedules will be sent out 10 days before the event.

All routines must perform in order. No allowances can be made for specific day

or time requirements by schools or individuals.

Any quick changes - 2 dances or under that have been missed on the schedule

must be brought to the organisers attention at least 7 days before the event.

Any changes in the schedule are at sole discretion of the owner.

3. Music

All music must be uploaded at least 21 days before the event.

Music must not exceed the time limits as follows:

Solos- 2 Minutes

Duo/Trios- 2.5 Minutes

Groups- 3 Minuets

Music must be free from any profanity or offensive language.

4. General Divisions

Solo: 1 Dancer

*Please note a single dancer may enter no more than 5 solos*

Duo/ Trio: 2-3 Dancers

Groups: 4+ Dancers

5. Novice and Elite

Dancers may be entered at the novice level for solos only.

All novice Dancers within the same age category will be adjudicated together.- E.G the 9-11 lyrical with the 9-11 jazz and 9-11 open will all compete against each other.

Novice dancers are dancers who have placed less than 3 times in the novice

category and have been competing for less than a year.

It’s at the judges discretion to bump any dancer in novice up to elite that they see

fit.

6. Age Divisions

All ages are taken on the day of competition.

Age Divisions are as follows:

Mini: 8&Under

Junior: 9-11

Teen:12-14

Senior: 15-18

Proof of age in the form of a birth certificate may be requested on completion

day.

7. Genre Divisions

Solo Genre Divisions:

Lyrical

Contemporary

Jazz

Ballet

Commercial/ Street

Acro

Tap

Musical Theatre

Open

*Soloists may not compete against themselves in Genre Divisions*

No routine outside of acro may contain more than 10% tumbling

Pointe can not be performed under 10 or in the Novice Section

Duo/ Trio & Group Genre Divisions:

Classical: Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet

Cabaret: Jazz, Commercial/ Street, Acro, Tap, Musical Theatre

8. Prices

Regestration Fee: £5 per dancer

Solos: £30Duo/Trios: £20 a dancer

Groups: £10 a dancer

Title: £5 a solo

Dance Challenge: £5

Spectator Tickets: £15 a day

9. Scoring and Awards

All categories will be awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies.

Overalls will be awarded to the highest scoring entries across the age division

E.G The highest scoring teen group or mini solo

Title entries can be purchased at registration. 1 Mr and 1 Miss Title will be

awarded at Mini, Junior, Teen and Senior level.

Lots of special awards will be awarded by judges

Overall Studio will be awarded to the studio with the highest average score across

all entries. (Must have at least 10 entries)

All score sheets will be available to studio owners at the end of the day.

10. Props

Props must take no longer than 45 seconds to set up and take down.

No props are permitted that could cause damage to the stage.

For example:Water, oil, powder, glitter.

Petals or similar are permitted as long as they are cleaned up by a member of the

studio within 45 seconds.

Failure to adhere to these rules will result in penalties on the score sheet.

11. General Rues

All judges decisions are final. All competition owners decisions are final.

Sportsman like behaviour is expected from all dancers, teachers, studio owners

and parents.

Backstage areas should be left as they are found, extreme mess may result in a

school receiving a £100 cleaning fee.

No parents are allowed backstage, only Dancers, studio owners and Chaperones.
